ARTVERONA 2025
10 – 12 January 2025
Stefano Malinverno is pleased to announce its participation to ArtVerona 2025.
The presentation at the booth is centered on a shared sensibility: the transformation of non-traditional, often recycled or industrial materials into forms that are both poetic and sculptural. The core of this dialogue emphasizes a deep attention to the physicality of materials and an ethic of reinvention.
The booth brings together works by four central artists who have each redefined the role of materials in contemporary art: Richard Stankiewicz, Tony Berlant, Pavlos, and Lawrence Carroll.
Specific details regarding these artists include:
Richard Stankiewicz pioneered a new language of assemblage. He achieved this by using discarded metal parts, transforming scrap into expressive figures that manage to balance humor, form, and critique.
Tony Berlant creates richly textured, wall-based works. He uses tin, found metal, and printed materials, combining collage techniques with a tangible sculptural presence.
Pavlos works by deconstructing printed paper derived from magazines, advertisements, and packaging. He reinvents this material into dynamic, tactile compositions that effectively blur the line between sculpture and painting.
Lawrence Carroll explores concepts of fragility and slowness. His approach involves minimal, layered constructions that utilize salvaged materials, wax, and faded surfaces that invite a close, meditative viewing experience.
What ultimately unites these artists is not merely their choice of unconventional materials, but their shared ability to assign new meaning and presence to what is often overlooked. Through transformation, reuse, and layering, their combined works propose alternative narratives of memory, time, and matter.
The booth’s presentation will be completed with additional works by Nobuya Abe, Enrico Baj, James Brown and Larry Rivers.
